FAQs

  • When and where are the den meetings? There are five dens within the pack. Currently, we meet at Twelve Corners Middle School, with some dens meeting on Tuesdays and others meeting on Wednesdays.

  • What is the parental commitment besides helping our child offline to obtain the achievement awards (i.e. badges, pins, etc.)?  You will find that most of our activities also involve parents and sometimes families. During a scout's Lion and Tiger years, it is a BSA requirement that a parent (or other guardian) be at all activities with the scout. Parents are also strongly encouraged to join their scouts for all activities for the Wolf and Bear years. The pack is run by parents who are Den Leaders, Cubmasters and Pack Committee members, so we can always use your help and involvement. We encourage it, and it allows us to offer better programs for the boys.

  • What is the registration fee? As of September 1, 2024, the Pack registration fee is $105 plus an optional subscription to Scout Life magazine for $15 per year.

  • What is the approximate cost to cover the additional fees throughout the year (to include the outings and events)?  Our dues for 2025-2026 are $225 per scout, with the option to offset that cost by participating in our popcorn fundraiser. You may already be aware of this program that so many packs and troops use to fundraise. Most of the activities that we run are at no additional cost for the scout participant. For some activities, we do ask for the program cost from each parent who attends (example: overnight trip to the Navy Ships in the Buffalo Harbor). Participation in Cub Scout Adventure Camp at the J. Warren Cutler Scout Reservation, run by the Seneca Waterways Council is an additional cost, and camperships may be available through the Council.

  • My son really enjoys fishing and hiking – will there be an event/opportunity to engage in these activities with the den or pack?  We'll be taking some hikes (always an opportunity to see/talk about birds, animal tracks, and trees & plants). We spend some time fishing during the weekend pack campout at Camp Cutler. Cub Scout Adventure Camp is a good opportunity to do some fishing. Dens have also done activities such as making bird houses and taking a field trip to Wild Wings at Mendon Ponds Park. Parents and scouts have a say in den and pack activities, and so if there is an interest in something in particular we can work it into the program as long as it is age appropriate. If these activities or others are something you or your family are involved in or good at, it's a great way to share that with the rest of the den or pack too!
